If you had the attention of a presidential candidate for 15 seconds, what would you say? What issues are important to you? What questions would you ask? If you are unsure about some of the current issues, use some of the links on the sidebar to gain a better understanding of what topics people are concerned about.
Change starts with the ability to form an opinion followed by the passion to communicate it to others.

If I had the attention of a presidential candidate, I would ask him what he would do about global warming because the if the Arctic melts than polar bears will have nowhere to live. They might come onto land and be scared of us. If they attack, some people could die. Also, the water from the melted ice could flood into our houses.
Like Kedar I would ask about global warming too but, I don't really think the polar bears will attack our people. I'd also ask what they would do about Iraq war.
I think Malini and Kedar both have great ideas but I would talk about health care of poor people. If you were a poor person what would you do; put food on the table or pay insurance? I might also ask; If you were president what would you do to help poor people get an education? If the poor people don't get education they most probably won't get a job, then they won't get food or even a shelter. Things just start getting worse from there...
I agree with Kedar and Malini... Like Kedar said I think the ice in the Arctic will melt and the coasts would be flooding all over the world, not only houses. We would get very hot. One example is that when I was at Taiwan over the summer vacation, it was hotter than usual. It was about 30C! Global Warming is REALLY bad that it can probably destroy the whole Earth.

If I ever had a chance to talk to the president,I would talk about our environment. Some things I would talk about our environment would be mostly about global warming, pollution, and some types of natural disasters. These are some questions I would ask about these things:
1. What will the president do if there ever was a natural disaster which destroyed lots of peoples' houses?
2. What will the president do about global warming?
3. Will he sign the Keoto Protocol?
These are some questions I would ask the president if I ever had time to talk to him.

If I had that much time I would ask just 2 questions:
1. What would you do to the troops in Iraq? Keep them there, or bring them home?!
2. What would you do for the global warming that is effecting and hurting our earth?!
Those are the things I would ask them. I won't say any comment or statements to him/her. I would only ask those listed questions. I'm not sure if they will be able to answer both questions, but for sure at least one.
Like Kedar and Malini I think I would ask the candidate about Global Warming. Another thing I would ask the candidate is if she/he would let poor people go to the doctor or hospital for their child, themself, their relatives etc. Especially if they are pregnant or just had a baby with a problem. I was watching the news with my parents a couple days ago and there were many normal people(meaning people with decent amount of money)that have babies that had some kind of problem. That meant the parents had to pay constantly for the child to get better. Most of the parents said they didn't care about the money but, later on were kind of stressed about the lack of money they had to pay. I felt really bad for them.
I also agree with Kedar and Malini but besides global warming I would ask two questions to the presidential candidates: if they would sign the Kyoto Protocol and if they would do something to the poor people like let them go to the doctor for free.
I would ask about the war in Iraq that was started by George W. Bush. I want to know how they will stop the Taliban and Alcida. Also about health care. Many people that live on the streats have no insurance so if they have cancer or something they can't heal.
If I could get a candidate's attention for fifteen seconds, I would ask about:
1. Health care because the poor can't afford it.
2. Global warming because our homes can be destroyed from floods.
3. Prices for gasoline because it is getting harder to afford.
and 4. What plans he or she will make to improve California because our state seems to get deeper into the dumps.
If I had the attention of a presidential candidate, I would ask him or her to do something to stop global warming before it melts the ice and it floods the earth. We need to stop this because if we don't stop global warming the polar animals may drown down to the sea so if we are to try to stop global warming we would save many people and arctic animals.
I might say that global warming is an issue for the president because after the arctic melts, polar bears will not have anywhere to live!!!!!This will happen by 2020!!!!!!
If I could talk to the president for 15 seconds, like a lot of people, I would ask about global warming. I would also ask about the Iraq War. These are very important issues to me because they will both cause great and bad problems if we don't stop them soon.
