Can't you feel it?! Science Fair "fever" is in the air!!! Below is a list of the approved topics for this years science fair. This is an individual project demonstrating how well you understand the scientific method and your ability to conduct a fair experiment. If you have any resources of where students can find ideas for questions or experiments, please leave them as a comment below. Also, if you are unsure about your experiment, I'm sure others can give you some feedback here so ask away! Good luck scientists and HAVE FUN!!!!
Topics:

Do you think the question- Will boiled seeds grow?- a good idea?
I totally think it is a good idea
Hey guys, I just searched up a webiste on Google and here is a great place to find science fair ideas! (Don't worry no need to thank me...hahaha...) : http://www.sciencefairsanity.com/home/sci/listitems_9_0
CAUTION: Remember no copying science expierements completely! This website gives you an idea of what kind of science expirements you can do!
Well people good luck on your science projects!
A really good site for magnetism experiments is: www.coolmagnetman.com/magindex.htm Only click on the ideas that have "expt" next to them or it will not be an experiment. :)
Uh oh...sorry guys! On my last comment the full website address didn't appear...well I'll put the step by step ways on how to get there.
1. Go to sciencefairsanity.com
2. After that on the left there should be a list of options. Click Free Project Ideas
3. You can click any of the options for the science expirement. I reccommened the Free Elementary Science Fair Projects (3rd - 5th Grade) option. Ta-dah! Ideas about science fair projects!
4. If you would like more "advice" you could go and click the Free Guide: Steps to a Successful Science Fair Project option but I think all we learned in class was enough.
CAUTION: Remember no copying science expierements completely! This website gives you an idea of what kind of science expirements you can do!
Good luck on your science fair projects!
Nikita, I think the boiled seeds experiment could work, only if you test it against a CONTROL. Remember a control is where you DO NOT change any variables. My only question would be, why do you want to find out this information? How will the results help you explain the world around you?
If I want to do an experiment with plants, do you know what types of seeds that wont grow too big? If you do, do you know about how much water they need?
I want to do an experiment with plants but my dad said that it will take to long and that I should think of something else.
Do you think that I should do it?
Hey Shivani, I'm also going to do a project on plants. I'm trying to find a plant that doesn't take too long to grow, and that doesn't grow super high. If you have any suggestions please reply.
Hey guys I have so many ideas I can't choose one. Can YOU help me choose. Here are my problems...
1) Does the surrounding temperature affect the growth of a plant? If I figuire this out we'll know if plants can grow any place in the world.
2)Does magnetism affect the growth of plants? we'll know if the earths magnetism affects plants on Earth.
3)When you lite a fire to a mixture of oil and water will the fire grow because of the oil or will the fire die becuase of the water? I think this is important to know because then we'll know how dangerous oil spills in the ocean can really be.
4)Does the shape of an ice cube affect how fast it melts? This totally ties in to the melting glaciers. We'll know if this is really why they are melting.
In response to Malini I think that ideas 3 and 4 will be good. I find them interesting because it really ties in with the real world. My question is: What amount of water produces the best growth result for a pinto bean plant? Do you think this is a good idea?
I don't know if this will work but...my question is-Do crystals look different if you play different music or tape mean or nice things on the cup?-but I just don't know how to make crystals out of water.
You can go to sciencebuddies.org, then you will see this list, but the first one says Science Fair Project, click on Science Fair Projects Ideas Directory, then click on the topic. There will be lists of ideas, and click on one.
I also have another question-about music again-Does music affect concentration?-another one-Does music affect the growth of your plants?
Wow! I cant believe there are already so many ideas!!!! Well I have couple of ideas:
1. Will the type of liquid you use to water plants affect the growth of the plants?
2. What makes a cake rise?
What do you think I should choose.(I am leaning more to what makes a cake rise?
I have a question do you have some good book of science expirments? I can't find a science fair project book.............. :0(
Do you think this ? is good Ms. McPheeters? What factors affect our heart rate? All you other people can respond too.
I think it is good Omkar, but my only questions would be: 1. How will you measure "affect"? 2. What type of activities will you be doing? 3. Will they be done for the same amount of time? This definitely seems like an experiment that needs to have multiple trials too. The results will provide useful information though!
Ok! I'm finally admiting my science fair idea! Here goes the big moment: Which materiels are best for conducting electricity? This would help us because with this information this would find out which materiels we could use to conduct electricity with the most efficiency. Do you think this is a good idea? I was thinking of getting a battery, 4 wires, the materiels I want to test and a light bulb. I would get the battery and attatch both the wires to both sides of it, then I would attatch the other end of the wires to the metals and other matiriels I would want to test. After that, I would get the other 2 wires and attatch to the other end of the metal. I would then connect those to wires to a light bulb and see how bright the light bulb shines. The only thing I'm wondering is how can I measure the brightness of the light bulb...
I will measure affect by doing running, jump rope, resting and other things. I will do this for one minute.(Answering for Ms. McPheeters question).
Hey guys! How's your project going? I know this is last minute, but can you help me choose another good website for the science experiment? I checked all the websites you recommended and I am still stuck! I need ideas, please! HELP!
Omkar, how does doing running and jumping measure the effect of your heart rate? It is an activity.
I found a good science fair book. It's called Earth Science Fair Projects By:Yael Calhoun......... :0} ;0\ ;0]
Hi!!! Just to tell you all I posted another post! Yay my science fair project idea got approved!
First of all, Ishan can you quit using our blog site to show off your future career? Second of all, Nandini I like your first question.
Hi people!! My experiments is on plants, but I don't know what could happen. I mean that what if our experiment takes around a week or two to finish? Someone please respond!!!
I got everything done except putting my things on my posterboard. What size should the board be?
Man, I am sure am glad that we are done with the Science Fair. I got really scared the night before the Science Fair.
