My New Puppy
By: Ryan

One of my Christmas presents was a Shih Tzu mix puppy. The other breed is a Lhasa Apso. The puppy was bred by a breeder named Kelly. It started when I was taking the SCAT test to maybe get into a summer school taught at Stanford by the school John Hopkins. When I was done testing, my mom told me my aunt had bought one of the female puppies. My mom wanted to see it, so we went to her house. When she saw it, she thought it was really cute, so she wanted to go buy one from the breeder. When we got there, there was much to choose from. There were 5 puppies. (three were already bought, including my aunt. In all, there were three male and the 5 female. (Extra Credit: Find both ratios for these two numbers and write them in all three forms, and the fractions for both of the numbers.) I picked the only male left, which was black and white, and was ginormous and much bigger than all the others. It cost $300.( Extra question: If any of you have a dog, how much did it cost to buy it?)
When it came home it was really afraid to walk on anything, and during the night, he kept whining because the breeder sleeps with her dogs, so he doesn’t like being in a cage. But right now, after a few weeks, he knows when to sleep and is now almost potty trained, but is mischievous and likes to bites things. Shoes, shoelaces, clothes, paper, leaves, tanbark, towels, hands, feet, and anything that looks appealing to him. If you already have a dog(s), or another pet(s), do you like it(them) and would you get another once he passes away? If you don’t have a dog, would you want one? If not, what pet would you want? Also try to do the extra questions!!!

Great post!
I (My family) have a dog, a lizard, and I own a goldfish. I got my goldfish from school last year. I already suffered from losing a dog that seemed like a brother to me, it still is a really hard subject to talk about without me crying. My family always gets replacement pets. We used to have 4 hermit crabs but they died in the winter, we might not get replacements for those. My dog's name is Cinder (si-n-der) and I love her a lot she is 2 years old and this year she turns 3. My gold fish is name Alodea (a-low-di-a) and it has been 2 years since I got him/her. The lizard's name is Duck, this is the story on how he got his name. On the first day we got him his light bulb over his tank exploded, so his name means duck your head, not quack, quack duck. I love any animal that is in my home. P.S. Your dog is really cute!
Nice post Ryan! I do have a dog that is very similar to yours. Mine is also a mix breed like yours, one is a Shih Tzu (like yours) and the second one is a Pekingese. This dog was named Cash since he was spoiled. He is also a male. We also got it for $300. If my dog passes away, we probably have more since we may breed him when he's older (he's only 6 months old). If I didn't get a dog, I would have wanted a rare parakeet that costs $25. The blue and green parakeets cost $20. The rare ones are completely yellow or white. Overall, nice post!
I wouldn't really want a pet, although it does sound like fun. It just take s to much responsibility, and I don't want to take that on.
First, you are so lucky to get a dog for Christmas. My parents won't let me get one because it takes a lot of responsibility. I don't have a dog, but I have two hamsters and a fish. I like them all, especially the fish, because I got it last year from Mrs.Dominguez in science:). My hamsters are fun to play with, but they bite. But other than that, they are great pets.
Aww cut puppy there Ryan. I don't have a puppy so when I go to my friends house I play with their puppy. If I could get a pet it would be a dog. I don't know the exact breed but it's fur would be white. (ps. sorry I don't exactly know ratios and since I have never had a pet nothing there too)
Dear Ryan,
Great post! Your puppy is so cute! I don't have a dog, but, would love to have one. I would want a lab puppy. Once again, great post.
Hey Ryan,
As you may know, I also have a dog. My dog, Cookie, has brown spots on her body with a white base. She is very cute while taking a bath. I love to play with my dog. We throw toys together, we run around in our backyard, and also sleep together. You know what people say: A dog is a man's best friend. (I'm not a man though...) Cookie has a daily routine that goes on and on. Eat. Sleep. Bark. Sleep. Eat. Beg. Bark. Sleep. Sounds pretty boring huh? I think dogs are lucky because most of them do not have to go to school. They can wake up anytime they want! (Also unfair) I heard your dog's name is Cookie too! Thats cool that we chose that name. I think that my dog is very cool. (Fun to play dress up with too!) :)
Nice post Ryan! No, I would not want a dog because, I am allergic to dog fur. And I have had a couple of dog issues in the past. So when I went to a person's house for candy on Halloween,a dog jumped out and almost bit me that. Also, when I went to my friend's house, their dog almost scratched me. So that's why I don't want a dog.
If I had a choice to pick any pet I would like, I would not pick a pet. I don't want because they are noisy, takes a lot of time to feed them, and eventually they die.
Well anyways, nice post!
Nice Post Ryan!Currently, I don't have any pets. I probably don't want a pet right now because they take a lot of time to take care of and I'm too busy.
I don't have a pet but I take care of a dog every summer. He is a poodle and has a chocolate color and a white birth mark. The owner of the dog named him Latte.
Good post, cute puppy! That's really cool Ryan! I have a cat and she is almost my age, eight years. We got her when I was four, and she was two, so small and adorable. But I barely got to see Abby, the cat, because my sister hogged her all that time. I don't think I would like a puppy because you wouldn't be able to go on trips for a few years. I would much rather have a few kittens.
Hi!
I had two hamsters but one of them died recently. Her name was Ella. The one alive is named Cookie. Ella was the nicer one though. She never bit anyone and was always curious and friendly. Cookie, on the other hand, bites at everything that doesn't belong in her cage, which includes your hand.
I would loooooooooooooove to have a dog. I think I would like to have a yorkie(yorkshire terrier). I want a toy yorkie(small breed of yorkies). I already have a name for her(I have decided that she is a girl). I want to name her Teacup. My parents think my sister and I are already a handful, but I think my sister and I would take care of the dog just fine. I just can't persuade them to get me one. Ryan, please give me some tips(if you have any) for convincing my parents to get me a dog.
Nice post!

I don't have a dog, but I dog-sit a toy poodle if the owners go on a vacation trip or something like that. For that reason, I really want a dog. I have five koi fish at my house, but now they are spending their time at the bottom of the pond, because it is too cold at the surface. We also have two birds, that my siater wanted for her birthday, in our house. One of the birds escaped three times already! It took us three hours to catch it. I would get replacement if any of these died. Nice post Ryan!
Great post, Ryan! I don't have any pets but I'd love to get one. Even though dogs are great, I'd actually prefer cats. They aren't as noisy and have softer fur. And they're so cute. Dogs are awesome, too.
Hi Ryan,
Great post! I don't have a pet but I wish! If I could have a pet, I would want a golden retriever. It would be so exiting!

Nice Post! I would like a dog because you can train them. They are way more active than cats, who sleep for 13-18 hours a day. I like puppies because they are small but I like big ones because you can actually play with them. Once again, nice post!
menerwaNice post.
I do not have a dog. Though I have to say $300 is a lot for a puppy. I used to have a pet fish, but he passed away a few weeks ago. Since then, we have been looking for a replacement pet. I would like another beta fish.
Again, nice post!
Cute dog, Ryan! I have four small comet goldfish. They are all very cute and I like them. I have a white one, a yellow one, an orange and a bit black one, and one that is red, orange, and white. The only bad part about keeping fish is that all they do is eat and swim. I know that they sleep but I can never catch them sleeping. Sometimes when I am bored I watch them swimming around. Once, I was so bored that I watched them for about half an hour. Even though they sometimes are a bit boring, I would still want another one if one of them died. If I can't get another fish, I would like a dog or cat.
Hi Ms. Mcpheeters. I'm Justin Wen from your class 3 years ago, i don't know if you remeber me, but that puppy is kind of cute. Middle School is fine i'm doing ok. Just wanted to say Hi.
Wow! I am so impressed at how many of you still have the goldfish from last year. I was hoping they would survive but failed to ask you guys how they were doing. That makes me very happy that you are taking such good care of them and using what we learned in class. I've heard goldfish can live for a very long time. Let's hope so!
When my mom was my age,she was so responsible, that she had six pets. 3 bunnies, a cat, a parakeet, and goldfish. She had those pets for a long time, until they passed away. I have a dog. A big one. Its a Doberman, a really cute, but big, and ferocious dog. I call him Giant.Hope I always have him.Plus, your puppy is SO cute! Nice Post.
I do not have any pets, and I don't really want one. I don't want a pet because I need to clean it, feed it, and a lot of other things. I don't want so much responsibility on my shoulders. Also, it would be really sad when my pet dies.
Dear Ryan, great post. I don't have any pets. I have been begging my mom and dad for a dog, but they won't let me get one. I would love to have a Labrador Retriever. You are really lucky to get a dog for Christmas. All in all, I would love to get a dog. Especially a Labrador Retriever. I hope your dog is doing well, and not having any problems with the cage.
Rohan I.
I used to have pet hamsters but they passed away. The gross part is that the way some of them die is by eating another hamster. Anyways, nice post and dog Ryan.
Awesome post, Ryan! Well, when my dad was growing up, he had one cat. Her name was Chi Chi. She was a stray, but my dad's family loved her anyway. Later, Chi Chi ran away, but then they got two new cats, a brother and a sister. A little while after, they got another stray cat that they named Tigerlily. The female cat that they had (not Tigerlily) soon gave birth to a litter of four kittens. Now they had seven cats. At my dad's school, there was a stray dog that the students named Duke. One day, my aunt brought Duke home with her, and my grandmother allowed it. Soon, they found out that Duke was a girl because she had ten puppies! By that point, they had 18 pets. Unfortunately, they had to give some of the puppies away and sadly, all the cats but Tigerlily died. From my mom's side of the family, there were three different bunnies, who were well loved by my mom, her parents, her brothers, and her sister. Now, my family has three cats, Mischief, Princess, and Cleo.
Great post I really want a puppy like yours my dad says I can have one I'm 13 that's way to long for me. If I got to choose when I want a puppy I would have one already!!
Nice post Ryan! I don't have a pet because my mom thinks they're too much work.
