Zoo Tycoon 2
By Kelly
Recently, I’ve gotten hooked on an awesome computer game called Zoo Tycoon 2. The purpose of the game is to create a five-star zoo that your guests and animals enjoy. The things I like most about this game are the freedom to create whatever kind of zoo you want, the realism in the animation and characteristics of the animals, and the challenge. In this game, you can buy lots of things including a variety of animals, animal shelters, food, and toys. To satisfy the guests, you can buy benches, tables, food carts, restaurants, trash cans, playground equipment, fountains, statues, and a whole lot more. Along with that, you can purchase employees such as maintenance workers, zoo keepers, and educators, and natural things like flowers, trees, and rocks.
Even though this game seems learning-free, there is an educational value. While creating your exhibits, you learn a lot about biomes, and when managing your zoo, you learn good money management.
It sounds quite easy, but really, if you don’t manage your zoo carefully, many things could go wrong. For example, animals can hunt each other and even attack guests! Also, animals can escape from their exhibits if the walls are too low. One of the biggest obstacles is the picky guests, especially when they are ungrateful about your zoo.
Unfortunately, this game comes on a disk, so you have to pay to play it, but I still think it is worth the purchase. Well, I think we’ve heard enough about my favorite game, so what is your favorite video or computer game? What do you like most about it?

This is an image of part of my zoo. It shows some exhibits, tables, bathrooms, animals, guests, workers, and a few other things. As you can see, I have a four-star zoo, it is the zoo’s second year, I currently have $8,995, and guests love my zoo.

Hi Kelly,
I don't play computer games so I don't have a favorite game. I have a lot at home but my brother uses them.

Cool game! Online I fist check my email then see if there are any new games on Nitrome.com or Miniclip.com. Then If there is no new games I play bubble tanks defense or games on silvergames.com or ninjakiwi.com. If there is nothing to play I play the demo of super smash flash 2. Its awesome especially if you make damage start at 999%, 99 lives, no items, and high damage per hit. Yup I certainly do do a lot of stuff online.

Nice post Kelly! I like the game called Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. It is basically like Zoo Tycoon 2 but you try to make a 5 star amusement park. You have certain type of levels of beat down amusement parks and you have to make them like that amusement park. You have a certain amount of years to do that and complete challenges. Somehow you can change land formations in the game. There is also two types of endless modes. One is you start off with a random amusement park and you improve it, the other one is when you scratch and you have unlimited money. The best part is, of course, building your own roller coasters! You can also build custom indoor swimming pools and outdoor swimming pools. The weird thing about the game, is that if you delete walls (from buildings of the beat up amusement parks), you lose money, if you delete roofs, you earn money. Weird right? You just have to delete roofs when you run out of money. Some people like to crash roller coasters into customers (or park inspector)! How mean! Well there are even more tycoons but that's it. Over all, nice post!

Hi! XBox Kinect's Just Dance 3 is definitely my favorite game. I also like to play the volleyball game on Kinect Sports. Zoo Tycoon 2 sounds really fun. On my IPod I have a game similar to that, but instead of a zoo, I own a pet shop.

Great Post Kelly! My favorite game is Minecraft. Minecraft is a game completely made out of blocks.(Well, not exactly, there square ones)This game has been mad a while a go by someone name Notch.(The game is from Sweden)This game never ends, and there is all types of things you can do. It took several years to make this game. That's how big it is. After a couple months later, Notch, and his brother, HeroBrine, died in a deadly car accident. After kids started playing, there had become a myth. In the game, sometimes you could see something weird, another character with white eyes. And it doesn't tell you that person is. If you look at the eyes, for about seconds, you die. HeroBrine has been proved that he was in the game. But how? Isn't he dead? Even the assistants don't know how. Same with Notch. The thing is that, Notch is barely seen. And one scary thing is that if you do single player, sometimes if your lucky, Herobrine could be there. It is a scary myth that freaks me out to death when I sleep. In multiplayer in Minecraft, there are servers, where you can meet other people. There are so many servers, that you can't even believe it. I have six servers. You need good internet connection for a server to work. Once again, Nice Post!

Nice Post, Kelly. I used to just play games on my IPad 2, but lately I got a facebook account( Normally, it says you have to be 12 or older, but these days, we just don't care and say who we are. It's not just me, a lot of under 12 kids have one). On my account,( I got one for the AWESOME games)I have 3 favorite games. They are Wild Ones, a game where you use pets, you start off with a dog, and try to beat other players. You can send your friends Tornado Gernades, suck up your opponents(it's mostly a One-Hit-KO)and if you kill them, you get a higher score(damaging them also counts). There's a HUGE variety of weapons and it seems entirely fun, but then there's management(you also mentioned it) and you only get one treat every time you level up so spend them wisely because you have to get 1st place and get lucky to get a treat. I saved up 16 treats for membership and I got a lot of gold before I used membership. Membership allows you to buy things that normally require treats for gold!!! It was epically WORTH it. Two other games by the same makers are Social Empires and Social Wars because you JUST CANNOT LEAVE THE SCREEN until you beat the mission. I have 2 mega bots, and a crazy army of stuff like UN Allied, Soldier, Bazooka, and Vehicles. My Social Empire army has so many good units you'd freak ou even when you're lv.23! I'm lv.17 or something. My most prized unit is ENT!!!!!

Dear Kelly,
Great post! I don't have a favorite video game, but my favorite ipad game is "Temple Run". I like it because it feels like you are the person running away from the gaurds in the temple. Once again, great post!

Hi Kelly! The game that you just described in your blog post sounds a lot like a game on HoodaMath called Theme Hotel. It is really similar. My favorite computer game would be Theme Hotel because it is a game that teaches you about good money-managment and good strategy and planning. You can also build the hotel and hire staff like maids and receptionists and people like that. It is a really fun game, and though is seems as though it has no educational value at all, it has a lot. By the way, nice post! -Mayanjali :)
