  By:Alicia

What did you do over the summer? What were your adventures? Well, I went to Orange County,Los Angeles. We went on Friday and came back on Sunday. When we got there, I checked my hotel, Holiday Inn. The hotel was really fancy and had a gym. my friends and I played in the gym and later went swimming. On Saturday, I woke up at 7:00am and went to a hotel for an abacus competition. We went there for a competition. I won two 5th places, one 4th place, and one 3rd place. After, we went to Home-Town Buffet to eat. Later, we went window shopping. On Sunday, I went to Knott's Berry Farm. The rides were so scary! Especially the Sliver Bullet and Ghost rider. I had a lot of fun adventures there. I hope to find out what adventures you had.

This summer I went to Taiwan to visit my relatives. When I went there I lived at my grandma and grandpa's house. It was a little boring at first, but on the next day my cousins came to our house. Two of them were brothers and sisters, so they kept on fighting. After that most of our whole family went to a place called Peng Hu. It was extremely hot there. The temperature averaged to about thirty-six degrees celcius every day. The first day we were there was quite boring. But on the second day it was a blast. We went to the sea shore and looked for sea creatures. We also broke oysters away from rocks and ate them! After we were done the instructors told us to come to a place that they had pet sea creatures. I actually held a pufferfish and real life shark!
Then we had another day in Peng Hu and okay because we went fishing. I also caught a squid. Then, we came back to Taiwan. We also visited our other grandpa and grandma in Ping Tong. That was mostly what I did over the summer.

An adventure that I had was when I went to Yosemite National Park. I forgot when I went there, but I still remember it as if it were yesterday. I remember that when we went there, Old Faithful was only dripping water, not really going down fast. When we went to another waterfall, my sister lost her sock: it went in the water and floated away. It was sad that we lost a sock, but it was also hilarious. The cabin was dirty, but it wasn't that bad! That was one of my adventures that I had.

I went to Las Vegas. The bad thing was that we only stayed there for 4 days and 3 nights at the MGM Signature. At a lake we watched a water show. It was so cool! It really looked liked the water was dancing. I also went to M&M World. There I made a coin that had an imprint of an M&M. I can show it to you someday.

In the summer, I had to stay home. I didn't travel ever since I was five. When I was five I went to Disneyland. The only thing I could remember was that I was scared of rollar coasters. The rollar coasters went really fast and when got off the rollar coasters I felt like I wanted to vomit. When I stayed home over the summer, it was not enjoyable. I had to do homework on the weekends. On the Weekdays I had to go to a summercamp.

Over the summer I went to summer camp with my friend Clara. I also went to Santa Cruz and looked for shell fossils. I cant belive I found a few, but the best part was that I got to take them home. I also remembered when I went to three caves around Sacramento area two years ago. I found many gemstones like: Ruby, Crystal, Saphire, Emrald, etc.. Those caves are pretty cold because they are under the ground. It's a "cool" place to go to during the summer.

During this summer break, I went and did a lot of things. A place I went was Yosemite National Park. My whole family went with me too. We went to Yosemite National Fall. I was about to fall in when my brother caught hold of me. The water was very fast and strong. I also went to my godfather son's birthday party. I barely ate. There were lots of kids, but most of them were under age five. I drank lots of soda. They had a huge jump house. Inside there was a basketball hoop. There was even a slide which was bouncy. After the party I felt like throwing up. Overall, I had the best summer ever (in my opinion)!

Over the summer I went on a cruise to Alaska. The cruise ship was called the Sea Princess. It is a Princess ship. The cruise lasted about 10 days.

On the first day we sailed away from San Francisco, we went underneath the Golden Gate Bridge, and I took many nice pictures under the bridge. The first stop was Kitchikan, Alaska. In Kitchikan I visited at Totem Park and I also watched a lumberjack show. It was really hilarious and funny because the actors kept on doing random things like pushing a person into a pool. They also has lots of skill they made a chair out of wood with a chainsaw! The next stop was Juneau, the capital of Alaska (it is the capital of Alaska). I saw a giant glacier and I learned how to pan gold, but I did not get gold nuggets I got gold flakes instead. The third stop was Haines, which has beautiful sights. We went on a 10 mile hike to a beach, but the beach had no sand but pebbles. The last stop was Victoria, Canada. We went Buchart Gardens and saw lots of colorful and beautiful flowers in the garden. We also went to Victoria University there were a tremendous amount of bunnies and are not afraid of people.

It was a wonderful cruise trip for me and I am looking forward to the next cruise trip.

This summer I went to Yellowstone National Park.We watched Old Faithful geyser erupt 3 times. We also saw a lot of bison.I saw one rubbing itself against a tree to get its outer wool out.We also saw a grizzly bear and a coyote. They were both on the opposite of the river that we were standing on so we got a little too close to them.On the drive to Yellowstone we passed a place called Battle Mountain. When we got there it was raining really hard and there were even a few strikes of lightning. It was really a battle.

Over the summer I really didn't do anything. The most exciting thing I did was go camping. It was super, but the bad part is that it was a long car drive. When we got there are friends met as there.Did I mention we were going camping with are friends?Anyways, while the adults were setting up the tents and the other stuff we played this weird game we made up.Its like if you gather the most sticks you get to put them in the fire.I guess we got a little to over board cause we started throwing sticks in randomly cause we were going crazy. My dad planned to go camping for two days. One day at Big Sur(the place that we camped at)and one day at another place but they were all booked so we headed home.On the way back home we stopped at Montery Bay.We played on the beach.I found two cool seashells. One of them was a purple spiraled one and the other one is a shiny white one and has a purple lightish back.Thats basically what I did over the summer.(the rest of days I just sat back and relaxed

I went on a few vacations this summer. First, I went to Sequoia National Park and King's Canyon. It was a lot of fun. I stayed there for three days. We hiked a lot there. I got kind of annoyed because I kept on getting bug bites. There was a swimming pool so we went swimming in there. We also went camping. We were there for 3 days too. There in camping there was a lake for swimming so I went swimming there. It was so much fun. It was pretty hot there. In the night it got really dark. Our camp zipper got stuck so we had to fix that. Well, those were the main small vacation that I went to.

Over the summer I went to Crater Lake. It was formed by a volcano that collapsed on itself, leaving a crater.Over time it filled with rainwater and meltwater, forming this stunning place. At Crater Lake,we drove around with our friends. We also went hiking.Siddharth(My friend)and I went down ahead of our parents. About halfway down we took a break, then we met up with with our parents. They told us to go back because it was to far for us. When they came back they told us the water was very cold and clear.

Over the summer I went to Mexico for a week. It was lots of fun. We stayed at a nice hotel. On the beach there were lots of jellyfish and also there were crabs on the side. It was a very nice place to be. You could participate in the shows and there was a nice swimming pool in the middle with a fountain where you could play in. I really had an adventure. It wasn’t the greatest, though. I first got stung by jellyfish, and then got hit in the eye with the fountain. The vacation was fun, though.

Over summer break, I met my cousins at Las Vegas. I stayed in a hotel named the Mirage. It was really fancy, too. There was a zoo, but no gym. In the zoo, I saw two white lions, dolphins, a leopard, and three tigers. I bought a dolphin necklace in a store called the Dolphin Store at the zoo. We also got to go swimming there. The pool was so big. It is probably as big as three classrooms in a row at Portal. In the pool, there was a waterfall. If you went under it, you would be splashed hard by cold water. It was really fun. We even saw a fire show and a water show. The water show was so beautiful, but the water show was really hot. We only stayed there for a day. The next day, we drove to the Grand Canyon. We stayed in a hotel there too, but it wasn't as fancy. It had a pool, but it wasn't very big. The good thing about it is that it had a small pool with hot water. It felt so good. Overall, it was one of the best summers I have gotten. I hope that I'll have a summer like this again.

My vacation was a sporty vacation. In the first week of July, I went to Yosemite. On the first day, I went hiking for more than 5 miles. It was hard and my feet was tired of walking. I saw the Bridal Vale Falls. Next day we had funtime boating in Mammoth Lakes. We rented a motor boat and I rode it so fast that my mom got scared but I enjoyed the speed. Next day, we went horse back riding for an hour and thirty minutes. It was my first time riding a horse. You would know my feelings if you have experienced horse back riding. My horse name was Muggzie and she was a 3 years old brown horse. Again, I went boating in June Lake. Paddle boat was my choice this time. When we were travelling back from Yosemite we stopped and saw Lower and Higher Yosemite Falls.Overall, I had a great time and it was the best vacation.

This summer I went to Canada. At Canada it was really fun and exciting. Our family went to Seattle from plane and drove to Canada from a bus. It was really tiring, but it was worth it. During the bus ride, we had seen a little cub running to the forest. Now that was cool! I kept on sleeping in the bus because there was NOTHING to do in the bus. We drove in the bus for four hours or maybe even six! Every two hours though we rested to use the bathroom. Once we were done with the bus ride, we had to stay in a hotel and wake up at 6:00 in the morning! Where were we going? Well we had to continue that pattern for about four days. Then we reached the Rocky Mountain! And that was a sight! There was still snow in the Rocky Mountains! and we also collected the water that melted there. The water was freezing! My hands felt that they were going to fall off. Well, I guess my summer has been very adventurous!

From all the trips I did this summer break ,going to Lake Tahoe was the best.I did a few new water adventures which I never did before like parasailing, jet sking and canoeing. It was a little scary at first to go 800 feet above the lake and but very exiting to see the whole lake from the top.

Over the summer I went to Seattle, Washington. It was really fun going up the Space Needle, we could look down at the whole city from up there! Also, we went camping. It was also pretty fun even though mostly I was playing games with my friend that came with me. Also it was fun camping because we were near a stream, so we wore our swimming suits and started throwing rocks at each other's feet trying to get them wet. To conclude, I had a really good summer.
