Audrey's Post

Books! Books! Books!

Sad face
Hi everyone I hope that you are having a great day! Do you happen to be currently reading a book, because I am! Books are awesome, you just have to be willing to read it.

Have you heard of a genre before? Or do you just happen to know what it means?
Well, a genre is the type of a book. For example, the Harry Potter series is Fantasy. Which means make believe, or how you might know it as a  fairytale. The Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a Realistic Fiction book. Realistic Fiction means that it could happen in real life, but some of it is fake. Have you heard of Star Wars? That is a Science fiction book. It has to do with outer space and all, but Light Sabers and Jedi with the Force aren’t real. There many other genres such as nonfiction, historical fiction, and a lot more. But I can’t get to all of them today.

Have you ever felt bad that your friend has all ready read three books but you are still working on your first?
That is called comparing your self to others, it truly is an awful thing. Never compare your self to others. Don’t read super fast just to finish a book, and then at the end you don’t learn anything. You won’t understand the plot, and then it comes to the AR quiz you end up getting a bad grade.
It makes you bad about your self and you get a bad grade, I mean, how worse could it get? Feel good about yourself. Pat yourself on your back and say good job whenever you finish a book. Your body works at its own pace, don’t rush it. And if you feel like you are being bullied tell the teacher.
They will support you though out the way.

What book are you reading now? Do you like the book? Why or why not?

Hi Audrey, that was a very good post. I found a grammar mistake on the part: "It makes you bad about your self... ". It is actually "feel bad about yourself..." but everyone makes mistakes. It is not a big deal. Now about your question, I am currently reading Soul Surfer. It is a great book. It is like ladder and each step is better than the other. And again, great post!

The book that I am reading is The Pharaohs Secret. I like the book because it takes place in Egypt, and everyone knows there are tombs, pyramids, bazzars, and sphinxes. Also, it mentions egyptian people, like Hatsheput or Senenmut.

Oh, and by the way, did I mention? Fantasy is totally my favorite genre! It is so interesting and entrancing! Well, in my opinion, at least. Well, everyone, keep on reading books!:0) Oh, and great post Audrey!

Thanks Audrey! I really thought your post was fun to read. I'm reading a book called Extra Credit by Andrew Clements- it is realistic fiction. The main charactors are Abby Carson, a girl in the sixth grade who lives in Illinois, and Sadeed Bayat, a boy about the same age who lives in Afghanistan. When the principal tells Abby she might need to repeat sixth grade, she has to step into reality and get perfect grades for the rest of the year. But that's not all, she also has to complete an extra credit project. Her assignment is Project Pen Pal. And that's where Sadeed comes into the picture. Letters fly back and fourth between their countries, but then things start to get complicated. Check out the book from your local library to find out how it ends. But don't take my word for it.

Great post Audrey! I'm reading a book called "Code Talker" and it's really great. It's about a person in World War Two and he helps the American Soldiers by communicating with other people to help spread news of what happens. It can be useful if other Americans attack, thinking that they are Japan, attack them. Then they can send a message in code to tell the other code talkers that they are not enemies. I'm almost done with the book.

I am reading a realistic fiction book that my friend recomends to me. The title of this book is Animal Ark. It is such a lovely book. There is a series for this book. This series is about a girl who has parents who are vets. The girl helps her parents by finding hurt animals on the road or somewhere and getting the animals to her parents. This series is a series that I like. I recomend this series for people who like animals.

Well I'm not really reading a book right now(except for a couple of comics), but I was reading the book called Diary of the Wimpy Kid Rodrick Rules. I was also reading the books The Last Olympian and The Time Machine. The Time Machine is a great book because there are a ton of details that make the story more puzzling. Read it for yourself!

Awesome post Audrey!
Right now I am reading The Meanest Doll in the World. It is the sequel to the Doll People, which is a book I thought was really good. I just started it but I like it so far. The last book I read was a Nancy Drew mystery. I love mysteries, especially Nancy Drew. I am a little bit of a slow reader and I agree that it is imperative to not compare yourself to other people.

Hi Audrey, I loved your post. Right now I am reading City of Masks. It is a fantasy book, and I really like it because of the way they wrote it. They tell you a bit at a time, so you feel completely absorbed by it. I recommend that you read this book!

Great Post Audrey! I just started reading a book so I don't really know if it is a good book yet. But I recently read a book about Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Tiki Barber, and Ronde Barber. I like this book because I am a big fan of sports and it talks about all of these players statistics. This book is a two in one kind of book meaning that they combined 2 books and made it into one book. It is kind of confusing. You can ask me to show you the book which I am talking about.
