Animal activists in China say a now-famous magic trick with goldfish swimming in sync for the Lunar New Year, may have involved abuse including magnets placed inside of the goldfish, and are asking the state broadcaster not to show it again.
Hundreds of millions of people watched the magic trick during a China Central Television on the Jan. 30 eve of the Lunar New Year festival. This TV show is China's most popular broadcast of that time of the year. I think that they should not put magnets inside of goldfish. Animals shouldn’t be treated this way. For example, in circuses, animals are trained cruely. So far, the animal activists are not sure if they really put magnets. If they did, do you think they should? Why or why not? What type of magnets did they put ( shredded or whole?) and how?

I don't because you have to treat animals the way they would like to be treated. Would you like to have a magnet dumped in your body? I think a whole magnet would not be able to fit in a fish but shredded could.
I donn't think they should put magnets inside goldfish. We need to start treating animals like humams! They are a living thing like us! I think they put shredded magnets inside. They could of mixed it into their food.
They shouldn't do it because it could harm the goldfish or even make it die. I think they put shredded magnets in there because it would be easier. For Example: A smaller cut, makes the shreds more hidden, or you could put it somewhere in the eye or close to the eye.
They shouldn't put magnets in goldfish because magnets put into goldfish itself sounds so cruel. And second of all it's probably bad for the goldfish. They probably put shredded permanent magnets and they get it into the goldfish by just putting it into the fish bowl. The goldfish would think it was food and eat it.
No it is very cruel of the magicians to do this to the goldfish. It can harm the animals, which people have no right to do. What if somebody fed you magnets? I think the magnets were shredded or mixed in with the fish's food. The fish could also have been fed magnetite, which is a rock that attracts to magnets because it has lots of iron in it.
I think that this is wrong because this is just for money and the animals get hurt. I think they gave shredded magnets to the fish as food. The fish unknowingly ate it and have no control of their swimming when the man is holding the magnet.I also noticed in the video that the fish were slightly leaning meaning they might be dying.
I think it is cruel to treat animals this way because it is controlling them and you wouldn't it to happen to you. They might have put shredded magnets into their food and made them small enough for them to eat.
What?! Magnets in animals?! That's animal abuse! Imagine if somebody stuffed in a magnet in your mouth just for show. Even if they shredded it, this is just plain cruel. However, I think the goldfish the Chinese magician used were dead. Also, the goldfishes' fins were not moving. Wouldn't that mean that they are dead? In addition, these goldfish are real life living things as well. If it was a stuffed toy, that would be a different matter, but people are doing it to real life things. It is just amazing what people do just for show. SHAME, SHAME!
I don't think people should put magnets in goldfish because it could harm the goldfish or kill it. Animals should not be treated badly because they are a living thing like us and you would not want to be treated like them. The magicians might have put shredded magnets in the goldfishes' food.
I do not think that they should put magnets inside goldfishes because they are also living creatures like us human beings. It's not like we could treat other animals like that. I think they put shredded magnets because whole wouldn't fit.
