Valentine’s Day!

Every year, on February 14th in the U.S., we celebrate Valentine’s Day. Legend has it that a man named Valentine was an imprisoned man who fell in love with his jailor's daughter. Before he was put to death, he sent the first valentine himself when he wrote her a letter and signed it “Your Valentine”, the words still used on cards today.
Another interesting person you would like to know about is Cupid; he is the symbol of Valentine’s Day. In Latin, his name means “desire.” He would go around wounding humans and gods with his love arrow, and making them fall in love. In Roman mythology Cupid is the son of Venus, goddess of love.
People celebrate Valentine’s Day by buying other people chocolates, candy, cards, and roses. I celebrate it by visiting family and friends. How do you celebrate Valentine’s Day?

Great post Morgan! On Valentine's Day my family celebrates by making cards and getting some candy. This year I also got a gardening pot, a pair of pajamas, and Chapstick. My mom also made a pink dinner on Valentine's Day.
I celebrate by giving chocolates, and cards. It has just been a tradition in my family, my mom or dad puts 1 box of chocolates on the dinning table with our names on them. And they gather cards from family, and there you go, that is how my Valentines day goes!! Great post Morgan!!
I really don't celebrate Valentine's Day. The only thing I really do is give cards and chocolate to friends.
Nice Post Morgan!
To my family and myself, Valentine's Day isn't that special. I get candy and I give others candies. At my church, we make cards for our parents or friends. It is fun painting the cards and cutting out hearts to glue on them.
Great post, Morgan!
I don't really celebrate Valentines Day. Sometimes my mom cooks a special dinner or bring home cookies for Valentines Day.

I don't do anything on valentines except for receiving candy.
I don't really celebrate Valentines Day. But at my chinese after school, the teachers give each student a piece of candy. We also get to have extra recess time. Nice post Morgan!
I usually celebrate Valentines day by giving people cards and we always get a balloon that sais some thing like "Happy Valentines Day!!!". I don't really have a huge valentines celebration, but I do a at least a little bit of a celebration.
I celebrate Valentines's day by giving gifts like chocolate to other people or relatives. I also give cards, write letters, and give flowers.
My family sometimes send chocolate or cards or both to each other but if we don't, we don't really do anything special.
I don't celebrate Valentines Day(this time I even forgot about it)but in school we sometimes do activities about it.
I really don't celebrate Valentine's Day, but when I was K/1, we had a card trade. That time, we could include candy which I was the only thing I was looking for, but now they don't allow any food or edible items. That was just about it. I don't really do much, but just say "Happy Valentine's Day."
I sometimes go to other people's houses, but most of the time, I don't celebrate it at all.
My family does not celebrate Valentines Day since my parents are from China. At China, almost nobody celebrates Valentines Day.
I usually go out for dinner with my family. This year we went to BJ's and had a great dinner. That is the way I spend Valentine's Day.
I celebrated Valentine's Day by giving cards, flowers, and chocolates to my family. My sister celebrated it in school and she had to give Valentine cards. I also got cards, and a small gift from my parents.
Well, I don't celebrate Valentine's Day by visiting family or friends. Actually, I don't even celebrate Valentine's Day! But the story about Valentine's Day is very interesting. I wonder how all of these legends get started. There is a story about Cupid when Aphrodite (Greek form of Venus) sends Cupid to kill a girl. But Cupid falls in love with the girl and marries her! He only visited her at night, and the girl got curious what her husband's face looked like. While Cupid was sleeping, she lighted a small fire to see, but some of the hot wax used to burn the fire fell on his face. Then Cupid woke up and ran away.
I don't really "celebrate" Valintine's day, but sometimes I eat outside in a resteraunt.
Wow Morgan! I never knew so much about Valentine's Day! Great Post! For Valentine's Day I don't really do much, but I usually do the same things as you; such as visiting friends and family. For me it has become a kind of tradition to have this certain family friend come over each year on Valentines Day. It's quite odd, actually. Anyway, I hope you had fun on Valentine's Day, and again, great post!!!!
I don't celebrate, but my parents do. They go out for lunch and sometimes have a gift for each other.
On Valentine's day I celebrate by making cards for people I care about and receiving cards from people who care about me. I also celebrate by eating lots of yummy chocolates and wearing red, pink, or other various Valentine's day colors.
I usually get some presents from my grandma that is like hearts, letters and candy. I usually have to write a letter back saying that I love the candies you gave to us. I love to celebrate Valentine's Day.
When we celebrate Valentine's Day we would go to a party to celebrate it. So everyone would eat and we would watch a movie sometimes like The Dark Night. For this year we just were at home because it was a Monday so no party could be done so we told every friend we could see and say .... "Happy Valentines Day."
Valentine's Day doesn't have an affect on me until I come home from school and my siblings have a bunch of candy. My brother, though, gets the most worked up about it. He'll decorate the house months before with laundry bins (he's five) and he talks about it 24/7.
