California's New Laws About Smoking
By: Danhee
I'm pretty sure everyone at least saw one person smoke in parks and the beach right? Well, well, well now California is the only state to ban smoking from parks and beaches. I think California made the right choice because if California did not make that decision, then the country will be polluting more of the world. Now since a little bit of the pollution is gone, it will be less polluted and even maybe the other states will make the same decisions of the smoking ban. California may even change the world to "Smoking Free Of Parks and Beaches!" And if it actually does happen, California will make a big part of it. California is actually making the air better for everyone though. You see, children go to parks often and usually see people smoking. The air will be horrible for the child and it won't be very good to the smoker either. The smoker can even get lung cancer if he/she smokes too often. Now since the new law gave the smokers a chance to not smoke as much as before. I am actually very glad that we now have this new law because now California has a good environment in parks and beaches. Do you like what California has decided? Why or why not?

I do think It was right to ban smoking. I think this way because just as Danhee has said, smoking isn't good for the environment and kids.
I think California has made the right choice because smoking is bad for the person who smokes it, the people breathing in the smoke, and for our atmosphere. Smoking becomes an addiction because of a special material in it. The more you smoke, the worse it gets because smoking can serious harm the lungs, and people who smoke usually always get lung cancer. When we breathe in the smoke, it affects our lungs too, and the effect is even worse on us. If we put too much carbon dioxide in our atmosphere, Earth could become as hot as Venus! We would all die because we are unable to endure the heat. I am happy about the decision California has made, but I'm noticing that California hasn't taken action yet, like tell cigarette companies, for example, Malbaro, to stop. They also should fine smokers.
I definently think what California has decided is a great decision. That way the enviroment would be alot better. Then there would be less polution which means not making our atmosphere thicker. Then it won't become really hot. (I know this from Ms. Mcpheeters in science class.) If we continue smoking and everyone smokes about 5 cigarettes a day for 5 years, Earth might someday be hotter than Venus! So I hope other states, contries, everyone in the universe (yes I am talking to you to alien!) will follow the great example that California has set.
I like it because the air becomes more fresh. California has parks filled with flowers and many people go to them. The flowers probably start to die if they get some of the smoke on them. The people who smoke probably die earlier. That is why I think California made a good choice.
Yes, I agree and maybe band smoking from anywhere. Anyway, the people who are smoking are actually hurting themselves. They smoke and get cancer with can make them in the risk of being killed.
Yes!!!! I like the idea of banning smoking. It is bad for people and it also makes the air pollution worse. People get addicted to smoking because they put a drug that keeps you smoking. People who smoke get lung cancer and start to rot from the inside. You would not want to see a half rotten person, do you?
I think California has made the right choice to ban smoking. Smoking can cause serious problems for smokers. Also there is this thing they put in the ciggerates so they will keep on buying smoke. If you get lung cancer, you will only have a slight chance of surviving!
I think California has made the right decision. I think that because many people are in the habit of smoking and can't get rid of it. It might ruin other peoples lungs.
I don't really think that California should just ban smoking in parks and beaches. I think that California should ban smoking in the whole, entire state. First of all, smoking will cause pollution. Cigarettes are very addicting because they contain nicotine, so there will be a large polluting problem in the future. Smokers will continuing smoking until they develop a case of lung cancer. Then, the pollution will cause plants to die and the atmosphere won't get anything but carbon dioxide. So, a problem as simple as just one person smoking, will lead to a larger problem in the future. Last, not only will the smokers receive lung cancer, the people around the smoker experience secondhand smoking. That will cause the people around them, including kids, to get lung cancer, too. The smokers will cause death to other people too. So, you should stay away from places with smoke. That is why I think that California has made a great decision.
Yes, I think it was right to ban smoking because pollution goes out of the air. It is better for the atmosphere and the people. Also, less people will die from lung disease and people will not smell the smell of smoke. Earth will be a better place to live if everyone in the world stops smoking(I hope that will happen).
Yes, I think California has made the right choice. The people who smoke are hurting themselves and other people. If they don't care about themselves they should know that if they do it to themselves it will affect others by adding CO2 to the atmosphere which will kill other people. Since smoking is one of the main parts in pollution and I think California should spread this to the world. If we add this pollution we die. Almost 9 out of every 10 smokers die from smoking. It also affects 30% of our body.I think putting a stop to smoking will make a happier life for all of us and especially all the coming generations.
I think it is definately right to ban smoking. I have seen people smoking and whenever I pass, I always cover my nose and mouth with my hand because it is not good for me AND it stinks A LOT. Ewww. Smoking causes lung cancer which one of my relatives died of even though she didn't smoke. My dad also has an old friend who smokes a lot. My dad keeps on telling him to stop and he says he will, but he never does.
