Winter Olympics

Have you watched your favorite winter sport? I have. The winter Olympics will be held in Vancouver, Canada this year. It started on February 12th and will end on February 28th. The winter Olympics is held every four years. My favorite winter sport is either skiing or snowboarding. There are four types of skiing; Alpine skiing, Cross country skiing, Freestyle skiing, and ski jumping. My favorite Olympian is Shaun White. Shaun White has won seven gold medals in total. I like the sport skiing and snowboarding because I like the feel of the wind in my face and rushing down a mountain the other reason is that it takes a long time to master and is hard to control the skis or board.

My favorite Olimpic event is ski jumping. It is very cool how they leap from one hill to the other. The turns are risky and dangerous, but I think winning something like ski jumping will make you very proud.
I have been watching the winter Olympics during the spring break every night because at night there is more fun things to watch. I watched until, the latest I ever slept at, midnight. The winter Olympics are held every four years. Last winter Olympics was held in Turin, Italy. This year the winter Olympics were held in Vancouver, Canada. My favorite winter sports are skiing, snowboarding, hockey, short track, speed skating, and figure skating (That's alot!:). My favorite Olympians are (Be ready to read ;) Apolo Ohno, Shani Davis, Bode Miller, Lindsey Vonn, Julia Mancuso, Shaun White, and Shen Xue with Zhao Hongbo. Apolo Ohno made past two Canadian brothers and won bronze. Shani Davis won gold in 1,000 meters and won silver in 1,500 meters. Linsey Vonn won gold and bronze, while Julia Mancuso won two silver. Shaun White made Olympic history in snowboard halfpipe. He got gold on the first run and did his newest trick (nobody could do in the planet) and got a better score of 48.5. The last are Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo, the gold medalist of pair figure skating. I like all of these because it happens that short track and speed skating are hard to predict, like when three South Koreans that fell. Snowboard and skiing are fun to watch because it feels like you are actually skiing or snowboarding. Figure skating is fun to watch because I like their dance moves. Surely, I love to watch the winter Olympics.
cMy favorite sports to watch are snowboard half pipe, snowboard cross, and freestyle skiing. The half pipe is snow shaped like half of a pipe. My favorite "half piper" is Shaun White. He does all of these crazy tricks on the half pipe that he practices on in a private corse in Colorado. In snow board cross there are four snowboarders going down a turning track inches away frow each other. Freestyle skiing is when skiers go down a hill, then up a snow ramp, and finally they do tricks in mid air.
I have not watched the Olympics. I know it is a shock. I just didn't have time. I know that I would have enjoyed ice skating. From what I have heard, Shaun (is that how you spell it?) White is great on the snow board. I bet the Olympics were great.
I have been watching the Olympics and my three favorite types events are ice skating women's singles, skiing, and snowboarding half-pipe. I don't have a favorite athlete because each athlete is so good that they are able to get in the Olympics! I want to learn how to ice skate even though I already ice skate for fun sometimes. I hope the Winter Olympics don't end soon because the Summer Olympics don't start until 2012. That is a long time from now. Hope you enjoyed the Olympics.
