My Trip to Hollywood
By: Rohan
On the 18th of September, I went to Hollywood to visit my mom’s cousin. His name is Varun. He had an accident during a basketball game. While he was running, his knee bent backward instead of forward, causing the anterior cruciate ligament, also called the ACL (which is one of the four major ligaments of the knee) to tear. It is the most used ligament in the body.
Hollywood was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We went to the star walk, where there are a bunch of stars on the sidewalk, and there was the name of a movie star on each star. Since Michael Jackson had died recently, people were putting flowers on his star.
We then went to the new wax museum. One of the statues was actually President Obama! The statues looked so real, that I couldn’t even tell them apart from the actual people. I can’t believe that people could actually make them!
There was also a place in the wax museum where you actually make your own hand. You dip your hand in wax, take it out, dip it in color, and remove the coating of wax. The coating of wax is your hand.
My favorite wax statue was Shrek. He was bent over, and was making a fist. Even when he was bent over, he was at least twice the size of my dad!
There was also a statue of Michael Jackson. He was on the stage, with his hand out in front of him. There was a man who takes pictures of you and sends them to the front desk.
There was also Spider-Man. There was another man who takes pictures of you there and sends them to the front desk. The only difference is that he takes pictures of you upside-down! That way, it looks like you are hanging upside-down. There are also some upside-down pictures of buildings, so when you take a picture of someone with the pictures in the background, they look like windows.
There was also another place where there is a video camera that they use faux movies, and there was a wax statue with a painted background. It looked artificial through the naked eye, but through the camera, it looks real. So when you are watching a movie, the background may not always be real-it may be painted.
I did not want to leave, but I guess I had to. What recent vacations did you go on?

The last vacation I had was when I went to Los Angeles. The week after the summer, I missed one day of school because I went from Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It was a short trip, but I had a lot of fun. Instead of Hollywood, I went to Knott's Berry Farm. The roller coasters were so scary. If you think of Knott's berry farm, you might think it is a berry farm. But, it is just like Disneyland but more fun. It is famous for it's berry pie. I want to visit Los Angeles again!
I went to Taiwan in April. It was sooooooooooooooooo much fun!!!!! I went to Yang-Ming Mountain and there is a place called Bamboo Lake. It is beautiful there. I tell you! When I mean beautiful, I mean it!! The farmer planted millions of cala lilies, and you can pick them by yourself. That's my favorite part of Bamboo Lake. Cala lilies love water, so you need to wear a special suit when you pick up the lily beacause they are planted in the "watery mud". Also I went to Tai-Chung for a day to meet my cousins, Katherine and Kevin. I learned how to make super-lightweight clay with Katherine. Taiwan is a fun place to go. I enjoy it very much. It is a fun place t0o go during vacation.
I went to Las Vegas! It was awesome. The only sad part is that I only stayed there for 3 days!:(
I still had a lot of fun. I went to M and M World and saw water "dance" at a beutiful fountain.
One recent vaction Iwent on was when I went to Los Angeles I went to cricus circus I got lots of toys. I had most of my fun there.
I've been to San Francisco about two months ago. It was very exciting .I got to see a museum there and saw a lot of scenery everywhere. The golden-gate bridge was too crowded it seems so we couldn't see it but it was still a great trip.
I have gone on a cruise to Mexico recently. When we got to catalina Island I got to have a snowcone and we bought a really bouncy ball. Then for diner I ate cheese pizza and for desert I had cake filled with melted chocolate and the chocolate was very warm. Then one night I had mango soup and it was actually melted mango ice cream who knew? Also they had a place called Camp Carnival and we got to play PS2, have a mini golf tournament plus we got to go on a water slide. That was my favorite trip ever.
Hmm...I didn't really have any recent vacations except for my Labor Day Weekend vacation! It was really fun. We went camping! At the camp we hiked, biked and ate campfire-cooked foor over a real campfire. It feels really good to get close to nature and get away from all this technology!
My last vacation was to New York. One of the main things I liked was the Mary Poppins on Broadway show. I especially like the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious song. I wonder how the actors can say
the word backwards. Another highlight was the Statue of Liberty.
We got tickets to go to the top of the pedestal. The elevator had closed down so we had to walk about 156 steps. The view from the top of the pedestal was pretty good. I just wish that the Twin Towers were still there.
My last vacation was Pismo Beach. It was not actually the best vacation but it was something. I am thankful that I at least got to go on vacation. It was still fun just not the best vacation I ever had.
I went to Boston a looooonnnnnggggg
time ago to visit my cousins. So I don't remember when I went. It was winter then, so there was a looooot of snow. As everyone would do, I built a snowwoman. Not a man because making three balls of snow was too hard. Instead I made one ball for the head and a pile of snow for the body. Then I had a snow ball fight with my cousins. It was fun until my 17 year old boy cousin accidently threw a snowball in my eye. OUCHY! (Oh, and Angeline, I went to Las Vegas once and saw the water dance too! It was soooooo pretty! Did you see the "volcano"?
The last vacation I went to was Alaska. I went a a cruise to Alaska. My ship was called the Sea Princess. The ship was one of the smallest ships but it looked very big to me. We first visited Ketchikan. There we saw lots of totem poles. (not made by the Pacific Northwest Indain Tribe) Next, we went yo Haines there we went on a 10 mile hike to a beach. The beach was not fun because it was filled with rocks not sand. There were lots of wasps to. They would always start zooming around you like it is a game to them. After, we went to Alaska's capital Juneau. We visited the Mendenhall Glacier. Our tour guide told us that the glaciar will melt in about 20 years. I also went gold panning. I did not find any gold nuggets, but only lots of gold flakes. The last stop was Victoria, BC, Canada. We visited many wonderful buildings. We also went to Butchart Gardens. I saw many flowers and I even saw a snake. We visited Victoria University. We saw many cute rabbits on their school lawn. Overall, this is the most recent vacation I had.
