October Break
By: Agrima
The October break just passed two weeks ago. For me it was one. For my break, I spent my whole first week relaxing. The next two weeks of mine were spent in India. In India I saw many tourist attractions and monuments such as Qutub Minar, National Science Center, Rajghat [The place where Mahatma Gandhi was buried after death]. I also had a fabulous time celebrating my Diwali with friends and family in India. In conclusion, my October break was really fun. I would like to know "What did you do on your October break and how was it?"

My October break was the best break I had so far. My favorite part was celebrating Diwali. I enjoyed Diwali this year because their was lots of entertainment that happened at my friends house. Everyone who came including me took part in a program where they had to do performances or something they had practiced. Their was a variety of performances like dancing, jokes, mimicry jokes, puppet shows, and singing. I did three things. One was singing and the other was dancing for two Indian songs. This is one thing that was my favorite I did during the October break.
On the October break, I went to PEP. In the first week, I went to Mr. Roels, Mrs. Mazonna, and Ms. Brickley. In Mr. Roels class, we learned about the country Great Britain. In Mrs. Mazonna's class, we learned manners and played games. My favorite game was Connect Four by Four. In Ms. Brickley's class, we learned how to draw animals.
I went to The Mueseum of Natural History. I took many interesting pictures with my dad's camera. I FINALLY went to the planetarium. Every time we went there, the tickets are sold-out. I got dizzy at first, but I got used to it. My dad was the one that wanted to watch the movie, but HE fell asleep.
In the October Break I went to San Francisco. My family was bored so we went to Stanford. That was pretty fun. I had fun during the October Break.
I went to P.E.P over the October break. We had many classrooms to go to. In week 1, we first had drawing, then traveling around the world with coach Justin, then yoga, then two arts and crafts classes.
In my first week of break, I went to PEP. It was a lot of fun as all my friends came. We played together at recess and lunch. The second week I was mostly at home. One day I went to the mall with my mom. Another day I went to my friend's house. I had lots of fun in my October Break.
During the October break, I didn't do anything special. I just relaxed and read some books and overslept. My first day of October break didn't go so well. First, my sister had school so she woke me up at seven. I was half asleep telling her that I didn't have school so she just got ready and zoomed off to school.
In the October break I went to PEP.The first week Ria was in my class and in the second week Jasmine and Soraya were in my class. We all played together at recess and lunch.Ria wasn't there in the second week so I played with Jasmine, Soraya, Auboni, and Shreya. I liked my October break because I saw most of my friends
In the October break, I went to P.E.P. for both weeks. Out of those two weeks, I had a favorite class. It was when Mr. Roels taught us about the United Kingdom. The countries in the United Kingdom are England, Wales, and Scotland. The part that I enjoyed most in that class was when we learned how to talk like a british people. I learned many words. For example, eggplants are called aubergines in the United Kingdom. Mr. Roels also broght in a car for us to draw that was made in the United Kingdom one day. On the last day, we got to drink tea and eat biscuits while watching a movie. The tea was kind of bland and the cookies were delicious. We didn't finish the movie that we watched. This is the class I liked most when I went to P.E.P. in the October break.
My October break was like what I do every break we have. I just stay home and do some things that entertain me. For example: painting on wood houses and decorating them. I chose a box instead of a house because I thought about holding my pebbles in the box. I managed to paint the box, but I never put my pebbles in there.
My October break is the best break for right now. My favorite part is going to my cousin's house. I woke up early in the morning to get ready to leave. Along the way, my mom had to make a stop to her friend's house. When my mom dropped off the puzzles of at her friend's house, we continued on, but my mom went the wrong way. We went back to my mom's friend's house to get directions. Finally, we got to my cousin's house. We first ate lunch which is dumplings and chinese style salad. After eating, I went into the backyard to pick some tomatoes and persimmon. They have a huge garden. After picking some fruits, I used their bibi gun. My uncle owned a bibi gun. I have been trained how to use a bibi gun. I am good at aiming at the target. We ran out of bibis, so we couldn't shoot anymore. My uncle had made a rocket shooter. We made rockets and shot them. The rockets flew over the street and landed into the neighbors lawn. We got tired, so I went back to the garden and flipped over soil to plant lettuce. When I finished, it was time to go. That is the best thing I did during October break.
I had such a great break. I traveled around Europe. I left the San Francisco Airport on Saturday morning. When we arrived in Charlotte we tried to get into a special club that had free food, really nice chairs, etc. We thought we could get in because our credit card company lets us get into those things. We didn't get in. We waited in there for four hours. The plane ride was over night and I did not sleep. Airline food is SO bad. In London we went to church in Westminster Abbey. Westminster Abbey is were all the kings and queens of England have been crowned. We saw Big Ben, but did not go in it. On the first night I almost got to see the prime minister. It was one o-clock in the morning so we did not stay. Still there was only ten people there. We got the chance to go on the London Eye (the tallest ferris wheel in the world). It felt so cool to be on it when I got to the top. You could see the whole city from up there. The next place we went to was Rome. Rome was really hot. We arrived at our hotel during night time and it was not a welcoming place. We stood at tall, dark, steel, gates with barbed wirer at the top. There was a control panel with a bunch of buttons, but we ignored it. Our taxi driver called the hotel and told them to let us in. All of a sodden we saw the gates open and a man waving us in. He told us the right button to push to come in and out. It turns out that that place as a lot of security. When we went to bed I saw a button to close the shades. I pushed it and steal feel from the top part of the window and locked itself. Rome was very interesting. There were so many cool ruins. My favorite would be the Colosseum. You could see some of the old seats left behind. You also got to see what it looked like under the stadium. There were rooms for slaves or animals would live before the fought. When we were looking at ruins my Dad said that the auto guide was boring. Which is amazing because he thinks everything is interesting. Our second hotel in Rome was so nice. We stayed in a monastery that was very welcoming. We got keys to the church and all the other rooms. That was nice because they were closed to the public. We tried to go to a service, but we still had jet-lag. The next place we went to was Venice, Italy. As you all know there are no roads there, only canals. We spent our day exploring and using the city's boats that were like buses. The first half of the day was raining, so it was cold and really wet. It was miserable until it stopped raining. We went to a park with a bunch of cool play sets. We walked through alleyways that were ten inches wide. We went on something like a gondola but bigger and it only takes you to the other side of the canal. We got to go to the top of a bell tower were we could see everything. It had Enormous bells. We did not spend much time in Venice, but the experience made up for the short time. The last place we went to was Vienna, Austria. We spent a week there. Our cousins live there who are 15, boys, and awesome. They are twins so that makes it even better. They play rough with us, but that's what I like. Once they locked us outside in the 30 degree weather so we had to find a creative way to get in. Vienna was great! We climbed a mountain to see an old abandon fort. One part that was a nice place was an indoor playground. They had something like circus tent that slowly became vertical. You could climb up and then slide down. But wait! There's more! But I don't have the time to. To summarize my break would be indescribable.
